Postcards from abroad
Our driver, Vinay, tells us that you can always tell the young men from Kerala because they are 'curly'. We love their flamboyancy and these two very shyly let me take their photo. (Normally, people thrust themselves forward and ask.) We spotted these hairdresser salons on our drive through Kerala.
We drove down from the Deccan Plateau via 11 hairpin bends to reach Calicut today. We joined the rest of the city walking on the beach to enjoy the cool of the evening as the sun went down.
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No - It's India's biggest butterfly. We have already forgotten its name!
We promised you a giant Malabar squirrel yesterday, I think? Well, today on our nature walk, we saw three. So we would like to introduce you to the world's largest squirrel! Don't you think the colouring enchanting?
