As a break from the competition, here’s a snap of Sue in a fairly substantial coracle (they are more usually glorified baskets) being taken across the river early in the morning, yesterday. Unfortunately, we have been too sick today to do much – turns out it wasn’t travel sickness but a reaction to some lemon tea – probably the water not boiled properly. So we have been on water and white rice, but improving all the time.

So sorry to hear you have been unwell. Wishing you better and hope you recover fully very soon.
Take care
Love

Thanks Claire. We are definitely on the mend though I won’t be drinking lemon tea for a while!
That looks like a much safer coracle than the bamboo ones at Hampi!! Or is this a boat?
No, it was a coracle. But it takes up to 20 people said the boatman. (they must be very small people!) He used a rope system to take us across and bring us back. Note the life jacket – I am sure Orange County had done a health and safety assessment before they would let their guests use it!
Sue looks remarkably cheerful for an ill person, what was in the rice and water I wonder. Hope you are both fully recovered. I’ve managed to come back from Spain with a cold although I’m still managing to look disgustingly healthy, must be that unhealthy suntan! Got your postcard thanks and looking forward to the thousands of photos. Enjoy your last week xxxx
Ah – this was before the LTI (lemon tea incident). We had lemon tea on the way to our next place.
Bad luck about the cold! Hope you get over it quickly!
Boiled water (and rice) I hope! Xxx
Always boiled or reverse osmosis (don’t ask me how it works, but it works).
Horrid being ill on holiday but with more car journeys ahead of you, no doubt, I suppose it’s some consolation that you haven’t both, simultaneously, become susceptible to motion sickness… Keep off the lemon tea!
