Ahmedabad was given UNESCO status in 2017 for the old city, which we explored last night and this morning. The trip last night was a bit unfortunate as I slipped in a cow pat (the cows here are particularly glossy and well-fed) and got dung on my trousers and shoe. No photo – sorry! This morning, we walked again in the old city and have chosen two photos for you from hundreds. A warning – we are saving some up for a quiz, later on, but here’s a teaser – what is this little boy doing?

Oh dear hope it wasn’t too much of a shock – at least there will be no shortage of dhobis to wash those trousers. We agree with the person above who says the kid is flying a kite – a big deal in Gujarat. Although the angle of the head suggests otherwise…..
I’m not sure we’ve got the hang of the dhobi thing – M rinsed the trousers and I dealt with the shoes…

I wish it had been that, but the truth was that I was trying to weave my way through a crazy junction complete with cars, pedestrians, tuk-tuks and cows – but to look on the bright side, it was probably the least worst option.
Much better than slipping on something nastier and clearly preferable to being mowed down by cows, cars,motorbikes etc
