We enjoyed an amazing lunch in a temporary Druze restaurant in the Druze village of Daliat el Carmel. The replacement restaurant had been set up for Shabbat by Nurma, the owner (see the opening photo) because the regular restaurant was kosher, and therefore not open on a Saturday. (And there was me thinking that kosher had to do with the food, and not the opening hours – silly me.)

Food looks delicious – and very healthy!
Everyone told us the food was fabulous in Israel – and it really is! One could easily become vegan here and enjoy the most wonderful meals. We now know that there are many Ottolenghis here.
I have reached peak middle class. Ottolenghi was in my Pilates lesson last week.
