As is customary when we go on holiday, we had to visit the botanical gardens yesterday which were, of course, stupendous. The most surprising feature for us were the rather large and somehow frightening iguanas, including this one which we spotted across the lake, up a tree. We didn’t know they climbed trees, and somehow that makes them even more creepy! We think the iguana in the final photo looks as if it’s posing for the picture – enough for nightmares.

the iguana is definetly posing – i see you’re havign good fun. love xx
We love Colombia. Hope you are safely home, Elizabeth and look forward to seeing you very soon after we get back. XX
They’re fabulous. We spent a lot of time almost tripping over them in Mexico, they were everywhere although not as colourful as these.
Fabulous but gross, I think! Am not really keen on their reptilian features, even if they take a fine photo (and test one’s skills of focusing with the camera).
I particularly like the one that looks as if it’s posing for the photo – very Jurassic Park ( and that didn’t end well for the raptors)
Iggy Pop named after them.
The things you know!
Haha we saw so many iguanas in Colombia. And yes, many of them on trees! Better get used to them…
I’m not sure I will ever get used to them!
