Spent a much more leisurely day than we are used to, floating about the rather wonderful city which seems to incorporate tourists and monks in rather a surprising way. (There are two men aspiring to be monks in the room next to ours – but they come equipped with expensive cameras and iPad as well as robes and a matching wooly hat…). S thinks it’s ‘Monkhausen’ syndrome…

Not so far – but maybe because we have been obeying the instructions and not rushing to take selfies with them as some tourists have been known to do!
“And how did you spend Christmas, Persephone?”
