There is so much beautiful local art and craft that it fulfils all the cliches one has ever heard about Oaxaca. We came across this beautiful carved wood animal (an alebrejo) and its maker on a very hot trip to a village which specialises in them. It was about nine inches tall.
The picture is a very fine one by a local artist – Rodolfo Morales
Annette and I are getting increasingly jealous as the rain keeps pouring down here and we remain wrapped up in our sweaters
Can’t think of anything tactful to say, really. It did rain yesterday evening for 4 minutes and the pavements very nearly got wet…
It’s great to see these vibrant colours when, like Claire and Annette, we are under grey skies!
It is not our intention to make anyone envious – but so glad that if the pictures brighten up the grey! XX
