Scenes of Aurangabad

And in case you thought we were just hanging around in caves all day, here are a few wonderful scenes from the rest of the day: a groom we saw near Aurangzeb’s tomb who very kindly let us take his photo as he wore his 45 kg outfit, covered in flowers; lunch – another great thali; the lady patrol we saw as we wondered around the bazaar in Aurangabad, and us – we were practising selfies and thought this one more successful than they usually are.

    1. And this selfie was, I think, our third attempt not to look weird – M at one point looked at the selfie and checked my face …

  1. Bridegroom looks like performance art – has he got any clothes on underneath? Fantastic selfie – much better than any of our efforts.

    1. You know what? It didn’t seem quite the moment – in the mosque with all his friends there – to ask if he was wearing his boxers beneath the flowers..

    1. Indeed! He didn’t look thrilled – there’s a wedding tonight in the hotel where we’re staying, featuring a rather ramshackle Maharaja Band!

  2. All stunning and such interesting images. I just have to go there! The temples are astounding and must say, don’t think that groom looks very happy!

    1. You do need to do this trip – amazing stuff. Groom looks a bit hot and bothered – and he has the rest of the day to get through..

    1. Yes, weight and heat ( plus expectations, the ceremony, the brides family, maybe the bride – all adds up I fear)
