Ramallah

What a day. We started at 6.30 am being picked up for a tour to Ramallah and Bethlehem, including a visit to Arafat’s tomb, having coffee and ice-cream in Ramallah, ‘enjoying’ the long-winded Palestinian route to get round to Bethlehem, and then visiting not only the Church of the Nativity where Jesus was supposed to have been born and a refugee camp established in 1948 but also the Walled Off Hotel, Banksy’s contribution to the Palestinian cause. After getting stuck at a checkpoint for ages, we returned to Jerusalem and then Tel Aviv – so packed quite a punch for our last full day in Israel.

Great Palestinian woman seeking photos … she stopped me in the street.

Palestinian ice-cream (like Turkish ice-cream with mastic)

    1. And we look forward to hearing about your trip to Mozambique and to talking in depth about our experiences when we meet soon. Much love. M

    1. Thanks A and J. We don’t think they do mean anything significant – we have a similar picture from Slovenia and the umbrellas were part of an art project. XX
