Time for food

We haven’t gone on about food for a while, so here are two of the places we ate at today. The first made excellent kulfi (Indian ice cream for anyone who isn’t sure) and served it on little plates with sugar spoons to scoop it up – delicious after an extended walk by the sea. The second was a Parsi restaurant and the 97 year-old owner welcomed us, asking us to tell the Queen that she would always be welcome in Mumbai. The food was delicious – a curious mix of Iranian (ie rice with berries) and Indian (the flavour of the sauce).

  1. The owner of the Parsi restaurant asked us to pass on his warmest greetings to the Queen, said we should urge Britain to return to rule India ( are you listening, Liam Fox?) and he would ensure a palace better than Buckingham P would be built in Mumbai. We nodded and smiled and promised to pass the message on.

    1. She did ( mostly)! The food was good and sort of fusion Indian/ Persian – the 97 year old royalist told us to prove we liked the food by eating all of it!
