Wow a real improvement since we were last there.
It’s been beautifully restored – very elegant and full of light
I love the tiles…. Beautiful synagogue.
It is lovely – v glad we saw it ( by paying some guy 200 rupees to take photos – cheap at twice the price)
Pretty amazing! It looks beautiful! G

Suspect the official opening ( soon, in a week or so) will be a splendid affair. 60-70 attend this synagogue we were told
Beautiful and beautifully restored. Is there much of a community left any more or have most of them emigrated?
M says there are around 3k Jews in Mumbai – no idea if they cluster in a particular neighbourhood. We’ve been focusing on Parsis this time ( not many of them either)..
A Very Happy Birthday to you Sue. I hope it is special in every way. Maybe you begin your return journey today in which case I should. opt for another anniversary day to be spoiled after you get home! It is rainy and miserable weather here so you must be doing better then this! Lots of love to you both Brom

Thank you for the birthday wishes, Brom – I’ve had a lovely day in Mumbai doing all sorts of interesting things and have had an excellent lunch. The hotel, unexpectedly, provided a chocolate birthday cake and some red roses! Looking forward to seeing you but not at all to leaving India. Sxx
